Hello from Brooklyn!
It’s been a gorgeous month here, one in which I celebrated my birthday (well over half a hundred now) with a quick trip upstate. This helped the whole family blow away any post summer blues as we rented a house by a lake and enjoyed the cool air and fading sun. Fall is in full effect!
A much needed recharge ...
Now some fun news: this month I’ve published my very first NEW written work of 2022! The short story, ‘SolarMute’ is part of the ‘Crooked’ anthology. It follows Sara, a young Brazilian woman, who is so desperate to escape her past she agrees to help a criminal organization steal a dead man’s mind…
SolarMute set in the Cortex universe (the same as the Alice Yu series) and establishes the background for the new John Risk book ‘Agent Zero’ due out next year (a main character from the Genesis Engine also appears in SolarMute–let me know if you work out who it is!)
The Anthology features 18 stories from a bunch of fantastic sci-fi authors; it’s a great read and way to discover new writers.
My second new work this year, the short story ‘Industrial Intelligence’ will be featured in a different sci-fi anthology out soon, but more on that next month…
