THE SECRET PROJECT IS HERE ... FINALLY
Hello from Brooklyn!
So this month’s email explains what I’ve been up to for the last few months. Last time I mentioned a project that started off small and grew to become a huge endeavor that totally sidetracked me. Well, today I am here to say that endeavor was (drumroll please) a new website! (of course I understand the meta-narrative of talking about a new website while you’re actually reading this on it, but this feed also propagates around the web so I had to do it!)
A new website? Yes. In a world of Tick-Tock, and Instagram, and Facebook and Twitter and whatever new social media platform comes along, a website remains your very own small piece of the Internet that is entirely your own—for better or worse!
To give you an example of the scale of this undertaking, my previous website had five pages on it. My new one has (at time is speaking) one hundred and seven. Yes, crazy, see what I mean about it spiraling out of control…!?
I found once I added a page, it gave me an idea of another page to add, and another, and another, before I knew it it was a full-time job. This was all mixed in with my whole family getting Covid, along with a major house renovation so I’ve had my work cut out getting everything done. During all of this, I have even started work on two new science fiction books, but more of that another time.
I explain more in the video above, and below are a couple of images that link to a few pages on the new website. I’ve designed the whole site in such a way that exploring it becomes an adventure in its own right, one page leading to another and to another. There are over a hundred illustrations, and sixty thousand words, all for free.
I would love to know what you think of it, so take a look, have a little rummage around in all the pages, then let me know! Next time I’ll talk more about the house renovation which is been quite the adventure, oh and what John Risk is up to...
