Real World Issues
When I started this blog one of the golden rules I chose to follow was, “Never miss a post”. At the time that didn't sound too hard, an update takes me 2 - 4 hours a week so I feed that into my schedule. Easy, right?
So it was and for 6 months, 30 odd posts in a row then I hit a bump in the road. It wasn’t content, I’ve lot of that lined up, it was that my day job got super busy. We’re talking six days a week, six weeks in a row busy and that coincided with it being the summer holidays in the US which meant my children were off school a lot and (who knew?) 4 year olds need a lot of attention.
I wrote my last post very late at night and reached a point where I simply wasn't able to complete the next one. It was a pretty stressful place to be as this blog and the novel, The Streets and The Skies, are very important to me but you have to pay the bills. So I got my head down and hit my deadlines one by one until it was done. I finally emerged back into the real world this week.
I’m starting posting again and have switched my blogging days to Saturday. I’ve put a lot of new image work up at www.jimkeen.com so go to the illustration section there to see the monkey on my back.
Next week I will conclude the Alice and Alex section than I’m going to follow up with my X-Prize submission and the “fun” of editing a 135,000 word novel :)
Thanks everyone for your patience …
